Reverse LCD Screen Burn-in

Is an image permanently burned into your monitor from having it on your screen for an extended period of time?  Don’t throw away your monitor just yet. That burn-in is easily reversible!

If you have the Mozilla Firefox browser, follow these easy instructions:

NOTE: Before proceeding, disable screensaver or power saving features so that monitor will stay on by itself for hours. Adjust monitor to maximum brightness.

  1. Open Firefox, click File, then New Tab.  Page should be blank, all white.
  2. Close the other (non-white screen) tab by clicking the X on that tab, leaving you with only the white page.
  3. Click View, then Toolbars, then uncheck any checked items.
  4. Click View, then Full Screen.  Screen should be all white, with no text, borders or anything…only your cursor will remain.
  5. Move cursor with your mouse to the bottom left or right corner of the screen WHERE IT CANNOT BE SEEN.
  6. Leave like this with bright white screen showing for hours, preferably overnight.  Previous burn-in should be gone.

These instructions are using Mozilla Firefox. If you have another method for producing an all-white screen, that will work too. Just be sure that no screen savers, pop-ups or anything else will show up on your screen while you are away from it, or that will burn in too.
